How I Tell Your Story

I believe all families have a unique story, and it’s amazing how your story and family dynamic really show in a portrait. This is why I love what I do. Through my lens, we can preserve those moments and details you never want to forget.

Capturing my families playing and loving on each other is what I love to do. Of course, I always make sure we get some posed images too, but I am most drawn to those playful ones — or even the quiet tender moments — that in 20 years will immediately take you back to what it felt like in this season of your life with your children, whether they were 2 or 22. I strive to capture emotion and the love you have for one another, and I want your images to be authentically you.

I love shooting the last 90 minutes before sunset or shortly after sunrise, as this is when the light is the prettiest. Once you choose what kind of setting you’d like to have as a backdrop — whether it be the beach, a lush green park, perhaps a wheat colored field or even something more urban — I’ll then choose the perfect spot, as I know a good handful of places where the light is perfectly dreamy. Or, maybe you want an in-home lifestyle session, in which case we'll plan your shoot based on the light in your home.

We will have a phone or email consultation to talk about the kinds of clothing that photograph most beautifully as well as how you envision your session. I will also send you some inspiration boards to help you plan what to wear.
